The Maria Cristina Falls is amazingly beautiful. The falls are found inside the NPC Nature’s Park which possesses an exceptional beauty. The area contains a legend about a sultan who wanted to gain popularity due to the inherent beauty of his daughter Maria Cristina which inspired the name, Maria Cristina Falls.

There is some speculation that Maria was not a real daughter of the sultan, she was an adopted child with her biological father, a fisherman from Romblon.

Aside from that folklore, it also contains recreational activities and adventures to please the visitors. Since the falls is located inside the NPC Nature Park, you can experience the zip line, wall climbing, tree climbing, and Tree Top Canopy Tour. There is also a botanical garden where you will enjoy watching different kinds of birds and butterflies.

There is also a playground where kids can enjoy themselves and where everyone can roam around over the hanging bridge while admiring the breathtaking views from the park and the perfect views of the Maria Cristina Falls.

There is a trekking area, an orchard with rambutan, lanzones trees and durian. You can also enjoy fishing in the river and explore the river by renting a kayak.

If you are planning to visit the place, coming from Metro Manila you must book an early flight to save the date for your vacation to get a chance to have a promo fare. After your arrival in Mindanao, you can take a vehicle going to Buru-un and then from Buru-un you can ride a jeep and ask the driver to drop you at the NPC entrance that takes about 15 – 20 minutes.

Those who are planning to visit the place, you must bring your own necessities especially food etc. because the dining area is far from the place. So make sure you won’t feel hungry
