Dubai is an economic powerhouse, more liberal than its surrounding countries, and has top notch travel amenities and attractions. As the largest city in the United Arab Emirates, Dubai is known for its soaring skyscrapers, beautiful coastal beaches, and luxurious shopping and amenities. Dubai brings in some of the best international attractions in entertainment. It is well regarded as a safe city and is a family-friendly destination of the Middle East. Travellers will be impressed with the quality of the hotels, dining, spas, shopping, and amenities that are available in Dubai. The city has grown from a humble coastal town to a booming metropolis with soaring skyscrapers and superb modern infrastructure. The sports and events scene continues to grow, and Dubai is increasingly recognized as a world class travel and entertainment destination.

To get around town, you may favor the public transport, as the metro and tram have been much improved in past years. Hiring cars is also a useful and reliable option for getting around Dubai.

Go from shopping and the chilly indoor slope to warm up on the beautiful sandy beaches. There are incredible beaches for enjoying the hot desert sun, long stretches of white sand and clear blue waters of the gulf.

Enjoy snorkeling, kite surfing, and swimming at some of the spots near the city center, or explore some of the coastline outside of the city for a less urban experience.

Relax at some of the best spas in the Middle East. Pamper yourself at a beach lounges or treat yourself with some of the hotel spa packages. You can also relax on the green, with many clubs and courses within driving distance of the city.

The Dubai Fountain is a spectacular sight. Its light and water shows shine along with music. It is the largest choreographed fountain in the world, with heights reaching just shy of 500 feet at times.

The Burj Khalifa is another immense landmark that is impossible to miss. It is the tallest building in the world with private condominiums, a hotel, offices, and a top level observation deck. There is also an impressive art collection, reflecting traditional and modern Emirati influences. The Burj Khalifa stands at a lofty 2,716.5 feet.

Dubai has a huge immigrant population and is extremely diverse. English is widely spoken, especially in touristic zones. While the population is incredibly diverse, the majority of people are Muslim. Traditional Emirati culture is strong in Dubai, and throughout the UAE. Enjoy meals of traditional fish, fresh from the gulf. Lamb is the most popular meat, and rice dishes are very common.

Visit an Arabian Tea House in Old Dubai for a traditional flavor. Travellers interested in seeking heritage information and cultural experiences in Dubai will surely have a selection of museums, religious sites and villages to enrich intercultural understanding.
