Komandoo is one of the resort islands in the Lhaviyani Atoll. The four-star Komandoo Island Resort can accommodate a maximum of 130 guests in 65 beach and ocean villas.
The island is only 100 metres wide and 500 metres long and is surrounded by beautiful white sand beaches.
The island sits in the middle of a stunning turquoise lagoon with a house reef. The reef provides guests of the island resort with the opportunity to swim amongst manta rays, turtles, and a variety of colorful, tropical fish.
Jacuzzi water villas are built out in the water upon wooden poles. These villas allow guest to literally jump off their porch and into the warm, blue water.
They also provide unbelievable views of the Indian Ocean. Each villa comes with a large, partially covered deck where guests can lounge and relax.
These villas also come equipped with a jacuzzi from which guests can look out over their stunning sea view.

Jacuzzi beach villas are built along the white sand beaches of the island,
just steps away from the clear blue water of the lagoon. Each villa has its own beach right off of its own private veranda.
Like the jacuzzi sea villas, the jacuzzi beach villa also come equipped with a jacuzzi from which guests can look out over the beach and sea.
In addition to the other features, the jacuzzi beach villas come equipped with free wifi, outdoor patio, four poster bed, air conditioning, ceiling fan, mini bar, safe, telephone, sun lounger, beach towels, kimonas, flat screen TV, CD player, and a tea and coffee making facility.
The beach villas are spacious, wooden villas located along the beach and discreetly situated around the island.
They are similarly equipped to the jacuzzi beach villas, only without the jacuzzi.
Each villa has a large, outdoor veranda where guest can take in the views.
Likewise, the villas are located right on the beach, so guest can step right of their veranda and enjoy the white sand beaches and the warm water. Each villa has a partially open-air bathroom with a walk-in shower.
Komandoo: What do Do
The Komandoo Island Resort offers its guest a multitude of activities. Due to the island’s location right on a house reef, there is ample opportunity for swimming, snorkeling, and diving.
The Maldives is one of the only places where you can swim with manta rays.
The experienced staff at the Komandoo Island Resort know the patterns of the mantas in the area and can ensure that you get the once in a lifetime underwater experience you are hoping for.
The resort offers a variety of excursions to its guests as well. One is a luxury sailing cruise on which guest will spend the day cruising around the Lhaviyani Atoll, snorkeling on coral gardens and wrecks in the area.

Aqua is built over the ocean and has partially glass floors, allowing visitors to look down at the marine life in the water below. The, “21st Century Omelette,” is recommended.

Komandoo is located around 80 miles north of the capital of Malé.
Visitors are taken to the island by seaplane. Journeys can be booked through Trans Maldivian Airways.
The seaplane journey takes about 40 minutes and is a perfect way to start your Maldivian adventure as the views of the many different islands of the Maldives and the vibrant blue water is spectacular.
